Cashmere

We probably all want to give gifts that we will be remembered for, but it is not always easy. A gift needs to be something that touches the emotions somehow. It could be something that amuses, has beauty, is indulgent or has that special extra factor.  One way to achieve this is by choosing a selection of items, normally a minimum of three, based around a theme. This has, of course, to be worked around a budget according to the relationship and occasion.

If you were looking to invest in a garment made from an expensive textile like cashmere what kind of design would you look for? Could you happily consider something bang on trend which may quickly date and be out of fashion next year or would you select something more understated and effortless?  Whilst a fashionable floral pattern may be good one year, this may look dated next year if spots and stripes are in vogue.

The question is, should the best cashmere clothing come with a warning? Once you have experienced the sublime softness, the feeling of lightness and gentle comfort upon your body, it’ll be difficult not to become a cashmere addict. Owning fabulous pieces of luxurious cashmere can quickly become an obsession!

If you say "cashmere" what words come into your mind? Soft, luxurious, cosy, expensive, winter, sweaters and jumpers may have popped up, but it is unlikely that words like summer, sun and vest tops did.
